Yantis ISD Board of Trustees would like to announce that Robyn Derington has been selected as the lone finalist for Superintendent of Schools on May 15, 2023.
Mrs. Derington currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning within the Banquete ISD. She holds a Masters of Education in School Education from Sul Ross State University and a Bachelors of Arts in English from UT of Permian Basin College. She earned her Superintendent certificate in 2017.
Mrs. Derington comes to us with 25 years of experience in education.
She is married to Jay Derington, a high school band director, and she has two adult step children, Sarah and Andrew, who live in Midland, Texas.
"As your Superintendent, my priorities will be to set high academic expectations, sustain a culture where students are safe and can thrive, ensure efficient and effective budgeting, maintain facilities with integrity, engage stakeholders authentically, and hire and retain high quality teachers and leaders.It will be an honor to serve as Superintendent for Yantis Independent School District.
