No School Monday!

Today is Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, and we want to recognize someone special. We are excited to have Officer Jesus Sandoval as our Yantis ISD Police Chief. Officer Sandoval comes to us with several years experience and is a Yantis ISD Alumni. He is an asset to our school, and we are so thankful to have him on our team.

We are so excited to see you all in the morning! Be sure to bundle up!

Attention Parents—If your child exhibits any of the following gifted traits and you wish to nominate them for our gifted/talented program, please stop by the office for a referral packet. I have also attached a chart showing the difference between a bright child and a gifted learner. This referral and testing process will be for the kids who fall on the gifted side of the chart.

Kind, Thoughtful and Hardworking are just a few ways to describe these amazing students! Very deserving of their Positive Office Referrals!

Yantis Elementary invites you to join us for a Winter Wonderland. Pre-K-5th grades will be performing classic Christmas carols as well as a few special performances by student groups at the elementary. Monday night was the December Mi Marias Hispanic moms group meeting. There were about 20 elementary and middle school families represented. They discussed ways to help their students at school as well as ways they can volunteer at the Elementary's Christmas program! We are grateful for these ladies and their families.

Update Alert!! Our 2024 Senior, Juan Hernandez, has been rocking his chemo treatments and got great news this weekend! They have found a donor that is a 100% match and will be scheduling his Bone Marrow Transplant soon. Juan, Yantis ISD will continue to support and root for you as you beat this cancer! #teamjuan

Our YISD Owls finished strong last night in the Greenville PTAA tournament, taking 2nd place. They fell short to Hawkins 64-68. Our young athletes played great and showed their spirit throughout the tournament. We are also proud of Alex Lopez and CJ Madison, who took home the All Tournament team award! Go OWLS!

We are excited to announce Mrs. Courtney Garrett, our YISD Dean of Students, has had the most perfect addition to her beautiful family. Colter Garrett, was born November 9th, and we are so thankful for a healthy, beautiful baby boy. We hope you enjoy your new bundle of joy, and we can't wait to see you back in February.
