2A Fruitvale 12-0 ----- Saturday, March 23rd Ashton Rodriquez started on the hill for us allowing only two hits, striking out nine and walking three while pitching 4 scoreless innings. Alex Vazquez, our catcher, threw three runners out who attempted to steal second. The tag was applied perfectly each time by shortstop CJ Madison. Ashton and Aiden Cason each drove in three runs. We totaled 11 stolen bases as a team. Evan Dunklin had two infield hits off bunts that allowed baserunners to advance into scoring position. I want to give a huge shoutout to Noah Bowring who helped us get the field in playable shape after all of the rainfall we have received. Our Owls improved 1-1 in district (VS the 2A teams) and 3-5-2 on the season UPCOMING GAMES Tuesday March 26th 6:30PM @Como-this game could possible get moved due to Unplayable field conditions Thursday March 28th 4:30PM HOME VS Cumby Staff member appreciation game has been moved to Tuesday, April 2nd HOME VS Miller Grove @4:30PM -- This will also be our 1st district 1A Game! Attention parents of track athletes, I am writing to inform you that unfortunately, our team will be unable to participate in the upcoming track season. !! Calendar Changes !! Due to low attendance on 1/2 days, we will be changing April 12th, April 26th, and May 10th to FULL days out of school. We had extra minutes built into our calendar and the School Board voted last night to make the changes. Please plan accordingly.

We are so excited to experience the Total Eclipse on April 8th with fun activities at school. Jennifer Larkin designed a really cool shirt if you are interested in purchasing to wear that day and to keep to commemorate this event. Order forms will go home when we return on Monday.

3rd grade has been busy learning about all things Vikings so their awesome teachers closed out today with a replica of a Vikings boat and the students designed their armor!

BASEBALL CHANGES - TODAY'S GAME IS RAINED OUT - MONDAY'S GAME LOCATION HAS CHANGED TO GRAND SALINE AT 9AM

Tomorrow's varsity baseball game has been cancelled. We will play Monday, March 11 at 9am HOME vs Grand Saline JV.

Community leaders play a vital role in inspiring and helping to educate our students. We were honored to have several community leaders come and celebrate Read Across America week by reading with our students!

Tuesday Baseball Game Recap from Coach Easley: What an exciting afternoon at the ball field! It was awesome to see our future baseball and softball players on the field with the team! CJ started the hill allowing 0 runs in two innings striking out four and walking two. The bottom of the first was electric for our Owls scoring 9 runs. Ashton got us started with a leadoff double. CJ followed with a triple driving in Ashton to score our first run, CJ scored quickly on a wild pitch after. Ashton finished the game going 3-3 on the night with a triple, double and a single, a homerun shy of the cycle without the opportunity at another at bat. Noah Bowring drove in a run in the 5th inning with a single. We had to end the game a few innings early due to it getting dark quickly. Our next game is today at 4:00PM HOME vs Gary Bobcats. Thank you for your support, we look forward to seeing you at the ballpark.
